About Russell 2000 Index
The Russell 2000 index comprises the 2,000 smallest companies of the Russell 3000 index. These 2000 companies represent about 8% of the total market capitalization of the Russell 3000 index.
The largest 1000 stocks become the Russell 1000 index; the rest are listed in the Russell 2000 index.
The Russell 2000 index is the index that focuses on companies with smaller market capitalization; it is quite volatile.
The Russell 2000 e-mini futures contracts are among the most liquid and highly traded e-mini futures today. They are highly popular with the day traders.
